Indica or sativa for anxiety?
Theoretically, one should steer clear of any sativa strains when treating anxiety with cannabis. While we generally agree with this, we still suggest you thoroughly read your labels. There are sativas that could have a terpene profile ideal to help with anxiety.
Search for Sativa dominant hybrids to get started. An indica is not always the answer to help cope with anxiety; not everyone wants to feel sleepy after smoking, making this option, not a universal solution. Always seek out good combinations in the terpene profiles. Limonene pairs quite nicely with Myrcene and/or Cineol, providing a nice balance.
Everyone is different when it comes to cannabis and what works for them. Your body processes THC, CBD and terpenes slightly different than your friends’ might, and just because one strain doesn’t work for them doesn’t mean it won’t work for you – especially when everyone’s anxiety is different.
